Living Wall Revetment, Chinderah

As the river is tidal the bank was eroding due to tidal movements. The wall consisted of a filter sock filled with mulch and grass seed. The living wall was tied into the bank using a geogrid tie back system ensuring no future movement due to the tidal conditions experienced in the river. The wall will leave a natural looking bank to the river whilst also providing stabilisation.

  • Set out and excavate existing bank

  • Installation of geogrid

  • Supply and install filter sock

  • Backfilling behind sock with road-base to reclaim bank

  • Compaction of backfill

  • Tying geogrid back into bank

  • Supply and install turf to areas which received living wall

  • Installation of rock armour to further protect river bank
